How Food Safety Systems Protect Our Food Supply

Implementation and maintenance of food security systems provides the strict safety and health of the population. The only time most people think about these systems is that, if not, for example in the case of a recall in August of 2010 eggs. Effects of rising occurred after the Salmonella enteritidis, security personnel of food quickly determined the source of the outbreak of egg producers in Iowa, which led to the recall of more than 500 million eggs. There are five major federal agencies responsible for protecting consumers that the food side, but dozens of other small organisms are also involved. The FDA is probably the first thing that comes to mind. Other agencies are the Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Customs Service checks all food imported into the country and several million tons annually. The National Marine Fisheries Service analyzed the fish we eat, and special handling that are biologically altered food.

An important objective of food security systems is the elimination of pathogens in food focus avoidable, so a system of controls exist throughout the length of the process chain, starting with the farm and ending with the table the public.
