Implementation and maintenance of food security systems provides the strict safety and health of the population. The only time most people think about these systems is that, if not, for example in the case of a recall in August of 2010 eggs. Effects of rising occurred after the Salmonella enteritidis, security personnel of food quickly determined the source of the outbreak of egg producers in Iowa, which led to the recall of more than 500 million eggs. The three branches of American government is the people’s food security, including law enforcement, regulation and justice in decisions when there are problems involved in our systems of food safety involved. Companies have to produce all kinds of food a legal responsibility to make sure it is safe for public consumption, and the general public has great confidence in these systems. We can be sure that the flour that we buy has been stored, for example, milled, processed and packaged under strict conditions and is safe to consume us.
The scientists, food safety authorities and public health are working together to maintain the security of a healthy diet, and all processes are transparent and open to public inspection at any time. There are five major federal agencies responsible for protecting consumers that the food side, but dozens of other small organisms are also involved. The FDA is probably the first thing that comes to mind. Other agencies are the Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Customs Service checks all food imported into the country and several million tons annually. The National Marine Fisheries Service analyzed the fish we eat, and special handling that are biologically altered food.
An important objective of food security systems is the elimination of pathogens in food focus avoidable, so a system of controls exist throughout the length of the process chain, starting with the farm and ending with the table the public. This focus has shifted to focus on the dangers of additives and other risks to human health, although still very important. Risk analysis of salmonella in eggs is completed, since studies of E. coli in ground beef and “mad cow” disease (BSE). Risk analysis is currently available for Listeria, which can occur up in some foods. So the next time at the supermarket, look at complex systems and food security are effective our government for protection.
